Duolingo for Schools is still quickly evolving based on constant testing and feedback from teachers, administrators, language learning experts, professors. In the screenshot below, you can see a student who had already mastered Unit 1 but received an assignment to complete the first node of that Unit. No worries - we will reset that node for the student without affecting their progress in the Path. What if the student completed that node before I created the assignment? If no assignments are remaining, it will default to the student’s current location along the Path. Once completed, students will be brought to the next assignment that is due. The pop-up above the lesson will show the deadline. In the app, students will be automatically taken to the assignment with the nearest deadline. Additionally, in both the web and app versions, if a lesson has been made into an assignment, its icon will be changed to a pencil. If the student opens Duolingo on a computer, they will be able to see a "My Assignments" section on their screen, where the assignment, as well as its due date, will display. You can also easily identify which lessons you have assigned by the "Assigned" tag right next to the lesson. Nicely done! All of your students will receive an email notification letting them know you have just added an assignment for them. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of accessing Duolingo for Schools, whether you're a first-time user or you already have a Duolingo account. Note: Content assignments cannot be recurring, so there will not be an option to repeat that assignment automatically. Duolingo for Schools is a powerful tool designed to help teachers and educators track their students' progress, assign lessons, and manage classrooms. Just like XP assignments, now it is the time you can choose which classrooms you want to assign this specific assignment to, when it starts, and when it is due. Once you find the lesson you want to assign, click on it, and then click on the "Assign" button at the top of the page. If you toggle the "assignable" filter, you will see that these lesson types will be grayed out. Practice and Unit Review lessons are not assignable. You can use the search bar to look for keywords your students are learning or use our filters to help you search only through assignable lessons. Want a quicker option? Click the “Filters” button and select the checkbox indicating that you only want to see assignable content. You can do this by manually browsing the content and looking for lessons marked as “Assignable.” To get started, go to your “Assign” tab and find the lesson you want to assign. Assignments are a great way to push your students to practice more! With Duolingo for Schools, you can assign specific content to your students regardless of where in the course they are.
